Is strong Lighting important for strong weed?

Light is just important for growth. Strong light can help the plant to remain healthy and grow fast like it should but the potency is up to the strain of the plant, the light only keeps the plant alive long enough to develop the potency lol.

ok kl, I heard if youve got lights that keep it alive but arent like 400W HPS then its a waste of time

i grew my plants under plastic covered florescent lights...moved my one huge female outside and at the middle/end of fall it was as tall as me and 3 times as wide

Well the more intense the light is of course light could play a part in how much you'll yield and how big the buds may develop but I don't think it helps the potency at all. So obviously if your goal was to yield big 600 watts might be more efficient than 400 watts.

If you have more lumens per square foot (a stronger light) then you generally yield more. The yield you get is dependent upon your lights, strain, enviornment etc

your lights will help with the yield you should aim for a gram per watt.proper lighting and conditions could help with potencey as it will help your plants develop properly.

yeah shotgun aiming from 40 yards away. these kinda results come from years of experience.

If you lights are in the growth spectrum for our favs, it's gonna grow....but you got to remember the InverserSquare Law, the farther away, the more dimished quality.

I have been using in a pair of small boxes, small lights, Box A, is 2-150hps and a 70mh,that box I usually get packed in jars, 130-150 grams of bud, dried with a 3 week cure.
In Box B, I use a 1- 150hps, and 1- 70 mh, and that box generates 75grams to 120 grams of dried paked away bud, and of course a 3 week cure.
I just hate weed thats not cured and never smoke it, I prefer nothing to nasty uncured weed.

Anyway in my 6 years of running these boxes, I find it's more about *how close you can get you bulbs to the plant*!! Burning stunts growth, so I dont want burnt tops...but I want them as close as possible. I also move my bulbs around to get more decent bud than popcorn.

I'll try and post up a pic or 2, if it dont work, well I'm old and suck using a computer...but I'm still trying.

Pic 1, AK-47, @ the chop. The first box I ever built..with a ton of changes, like being able to sink the buckets or tubs thru the floor for a cooler rootmass, and of the real reason...MORE BUD ROOM!!! It's an ugly clunky old thing, but damnit...I love her!!! She has been running one crop after another non stop for 6 years!! Day in day out!! Old shipping crates, torn apart and rebuilt into a useful working part of society!!
Pic 2 my newly designed and box on it's base!! Hollow wall, flow thru design, cheap to make, easy to use, rolles where I need it to. Emergency over flow pan in base, quiet, and it also has run nonstop since I made her last year!!

Both boxes are fully hydro capable, and each have had hydro crops come from them.
