when is a good time to top a plant

What are the general rules to topping a plant? Should you only do it during flowering and when should you do it into flowering?

Only in veg :thumbsup:

takes a while for your plant to recover so you want to do it in the veg stage. I like to top my fast growers so the rest can catch up and i clone the cutting.

I personally would not top lowryder just because topping adds a bit of recovery time to your grow, and with an AF strain you need all the time you can get.

My feel for topping is that I like to do it when I start to see at least a little secondary growth already starting at the nodes. That seems to be between 5 and 7 sets of true leaves or so.

It is entirely possible to top TOO early!
