Sometimes you can't avoid using your hands, but I like to use a grinder or scissors so that the oils/resin stay on the weed where I can smoke them, rather than on my fingers.

And yes, that may be anal retentive, but all things being equal, why not?

I still like grinders the best, because nothing gets lost and it takes 5 seconds.
