If anyone here wants to read a book about the Battle of Thermopylae that you won't be able to put down, read Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. It is about as true a written acount of the battle as you can get from a work of fiction and you will laugh at the movie 300 after reading what hoplite warfare was really like.
