    watering with nutes

    hello again

just a bit of a quick question really.

when watering during flowering do u water with nutes every watering or should i water with nutes for 1 watering then normal ph water the next time to sort of give them a break?

i'm using canna terra flores for my nutes and only using half dosage at the moment and been in flowering since friday morning.

    using biobiz soil.

been watering 300ml every other day so i'm wondering if i should give more nutes today.

i did notice a couple of top leafs points on the plants have a slight tint of yellowing but i think thats heat stress with the lamp to close but i have moved that another 4" away and seems fine now.

I don't know why people always use 1/2 nutes. Mix nutes as directed.
especially in flower, they need it. good idea to alternate. get a tds pen, and measure your run-off. That will teach you how to strengthen or lessen your nutes.

I found that the recommended GH nutes are too much for cannabis and also not appropriate for indoor growing. The 1,2,3 2,2,2 3,2,1, makes the plant too leafy and too tall during stretch for a short indoor grow space. The less grow, the better and no 2-2-2 cycle. I think 1-1-1 is good for early veg and then 0-1-2 is good for blooming. I do not have a meter but I kindof feel it out by looking at the water level, the color of the solution and the plants. When water level looks low, add full strength nutes for first week, then add half strength nutes for second week. Change every 12-14 days. I am just starting to get into the addivtives to see if they prove necessary. Sorry for rambling I am kindof baked-peace. Oh and keep temps low - that is the one thing I f'ed up on during my first grow.

I'm pretty sure you have that backwards since you want more P(the first number before the dash) for bud production.

As for the original poster, follow the directions or spemnd the money on nute made for Cannabis plants, the Advanced Nutrients line is great and only 30$ for the 3 part system. With how frequently you water I would alternate between water and nutes. Why so little water though? You should be watering till you have some come out the bottom then waiting till they dry up to water again.

1st off... Using General Hydroponics as directed is the correct way to use them. Do Not listen to people who tell you a product is too strong...Experts and Scientists developed those formulas, and I am sorry, but I yield to their "vast" knowlegde!

advanced nutrients copied general hydroponics 3-part. So if you need to go to hydro store, and don't want them to know for sure what you are growing...GH products are more discreet. I did however just buy some Hammerhead on the internet...

Everyone always says to cut out grow part. If you look at grow compared to micro part...then you will see that micro is much higher in "N" nitrogen and grow has a high end of "K" potassium. As we all know Potassium is the most important element in flowering.
Many people mistakenly add lots of phosphates in flower, but the plant can only uptake phosphates in small amounts so the high "P" theory is flawed

I have a post/thread about using gh 3-part. Then I balance my mix with botanicare Liquid Karma...and if using Reverse Osmosis water, then calmag+
essential to replace elements removed by that process. With this formula I have repeatedly grown 3/4lb plants in a 5 gallon bucket, and many members who followed my thread had great results also.

I will be glad to help you out, if you listen...And to those who's toes I stepped on...You were a bit confused and off in your advice to a new grower; sorry.

p.s. both Zandor and I have used 3-part for the largest balance of our grow experience.

We have both personally tested 3-5 different lines of nutrients, and with controlled conditions and solid grow practices we have a pretty good idea what you need, and what you don't. Peace

latewood - I have seen what you can do and you know what you are talking about - sorry for the misinformation. I will not give anymore nutrient advice on cannabis.com from now on! I have grown in soil for awhile and recently switched over to hydro - using the "lucas method" in flower (GH nutes). I read on the cannabis FAQ the the nitrogen in GH grow was not good for flowering so I have just been using micro and bloom. Where can I get good solid info on how the nutes really work? Why do I hear so many times that 1-2-3, 2-2-2, 3-2-1 is bad?

Just learn a bit more before you try to get complicated. lol try 1-1-1 and learn to grow. I had a thread recently about all you need, and bumped it today. It isn't the perfect solution, but it works, and it is simple. Look in hydro for it. Peace

    Here you go; Tomasinho

    http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/93676-proven-nutrients-all-you-need-gh-3-part-calmag.html

This will give you my take on a basic learning recipe for success in growing. I am tweaking this benchmark formula. forget about the lucas method. It has it's merits, but unless you want less than you can get out of your grows...get away from that theory.

I hope this helps you out and makes ammends if I startled you. peace
