ITGfan17921 Reviewed by ITGfan17921 on 03-11-2007. Spent a night in jail So last night i spent some time in jail. I got caught with less than .3 grams of weed and some paraphernalia. Which is well below the maxium amount for it to be a misdemeanor (8 ounces). It was the first time ive ever been charged with anything. I am 18 and have a clean record. Is there any reason i should be worried about jail time. The maximum is 1 year, its really bothering me. What is the chance that i will actually go to jail for something like this? im glad i live in a country where cops are corrupt... so if they bust you, just give them like R$50 (about US$ 20) and they will let you go as if nothing has happened... but of course they will keep your weed, probably to smoke later...

i wish you could just pay cops here... well for something like that... i'm sure that also eventually leads to more dangerous things, such as killers and rapists payin the cops of to be let go... but it would be nice to be pulled over with weed and all you had to do would be wave a 20 in their face and be on your way.

Damn, have gotten pulled over and had weed taken a few times, one time with a few grams of white taken from the Narc Task Force, one time with my friend drunk driving...nothing. Not to mention the times on foot. Saw a guy get an ounce taken from him the other day from the cops (no charge or anything)...wow. In New England where marijuana is not decriminalized yet.

The cops are corrupt here, just instead of being corrupt for the occasional $20 or $50 they're corrupt to lies and known misconceptions in an ever-increasing culture war.

lol it has little to do with having nothing to do... first, prison systems are a MAJOR 'industry' in texas.... and they make money on every prisoner (i think they get paid liek 200-300 a day per head.. it costs less than 20 per day to keep them there) and then of course... texas is a mostly republican state... always want the harshest punishments for the most minimal crimes... it doesn't work both ways tho.. my brother was murdered, and the dude got 2 years in prison... he murdered my brother, and admitted to doing it, with a shotgun at close range... for no real reason... just a disagreement i'm guessing....

ain't the only fucked up thing i've heard coming from our judicial system....

dude no offense man but stop beign pussy bout it im sure youll be fine i got arrested two weeks ago and me and bro had to spend 4 days in jail and my brother still sint home, he went to a different detention center and now he sin this place called phase hes beent there for the past week, but man i dont think you have anythign to woryy about the most would be pocession and ive got that already and im not in much trouble

i wouldnt be worried about ur trial, it will prolly be nothing more than you telling the judge your name and him/her either dismissing it alltogether or telling you to pay a fine. nothin serious.

in my experince court was wayy too anticlimactic after a funfilled day in bookings
