Born and raised in Newport Beach, California! Pops is a homicide detective for LAPD... needless to say i am desensitized to gore and a city whos malevolent populas is always bringing you down.

Now i live in a small resort town in the mountains. everyone knows each other - a very odd transition.


FUCK i miss the ocean.

where I live...... you know your neighbors and they know you. you help each other out, I shovel snow for free for my elderly neighbors, I tried to live in the city (about pop.80,000 largest in the county) everyone was always gawking at you and was very nosy and didnt care, but now i live in the burbs, and its life as it should be in older america where THE HOOD becomes a neighborhood and a place to live. A place to raise a family in relitive comfort knowing they are safer from gang violence, kidnapping and child preditors.
The odd transition for me was putting a country boy in a bigger city, i hated it and moved back to the country, there is a large appeal in me for space and privacy, i couldnt get that in the city i was suffocating.

Wow, you consider 80,000 in a county a city? Try living in a county with only 26 square miles with 200,000 in it. And I don't consider it a city, I consider it suburbs.

But I agree with you, the country life is refreshing in the way you don't feel like you are suffocating. But I can't live without having a city nearby, I need the nightlife.

I was raised in a town of about 400. so yes i do. lol
i couldnt consider living in NYC or LA. my soul would die. to visit is ok but not live, i think if city people adopted a FEW county values, the city would be a better place, I take time everyday and do something small and kind for a random person, weather its carrying a heavy grocery bag, or letting someone cross in the crosswalk when i drive. a small act of kindness can make it better. you dont have to be a super hero to change the world, just a small act of selfless compassion for your fellow man. It goes against the very grain of human existance to seperate yourselves in society. Humans evolved in to what they are today by looking out for one another like pack animals and we are loosing that in ourselves, and i feel thats why we are loosing our citys.

Lol I'd just ask why does it matter, if they want to smoke they'd probably do it with or without a prescription...I know I do :hippy:.

Sorry dude, but I work on a daily basis with emotionally disturbed and learning disabled kids. I can recall this one kid who was ADHD and would come to school reeking of pot. He did his best work those days. Without it, he was a behavior problem, off task and spoke without thinking. His teacher and I figured "leave well enough alone" and never mentioned it. I can think of several of my current students who might benefit from a toke now and then.

Now being a former "Sandy eggan", I'm glad to see that Grossmont High has loosened up since I lived there. I miss the ocean, the zoo and the museums (even if they were in poor repair)- but the people drove me nuts! We moved after (a) the SWAT team was just around the corner taking out a armed robber, (b) my 3 year old son found a used syringe on the sidewalk, (c) a drunk missed plowing into my house by a few fee- hit a hydrant instead, (d) I could see the craziness getting worse.

When it comes to getting "legal" and all that jazz, I feel that you kids are missing a vital bit of info...most cannabis specialists will NOT give a recommendation to minors without their parent's consent! So what do your parents think about this idea of yours? - Granny:hippy:

That's like my school, as long as I do my work properly, they don't give a fuck about if I'm high or not, and I smoke weed in school everyday...
