You have every-right to think it's your fault, thats a natural reaction to the situation.

He as a friend hopefully just sees it as a fucked up and unlucky night, and not your fault.

Don't blame yourself, sometimes things happen, if you cant bail him out at least give the guy a call and ask him what he woud like him to do.

Dear Brian, you were just arrested and its my fault its true. my friend brian was pulled over just as i was walking out of my building to go on a smoke ride with him. i watched the whole thing from my window. last time i checked, he was sitting in a cop car while they stuffed his precious goods in evidence bags. and its my fault cause i called him at 3am to take me on a smoke ride cause i coulndt sleep.
