I'm so sorry...That's absolutely insane, especially the part about carrying OTC medicine being against policy.
I haven't lived at home for awhile, I kind of bounce around between different places every couple of days, so I bring my overnight bag to school, which has Zyrtec (allergy medication) and Midol. One day, I left my overnight bag in my locker at school and stayed home sick the next day.
Apparently my teacher "caught wind" of the fact that there were "illicit substances" in my bag and opened it/searched it in front of the whole class(under the premise he didn't know who it belonged to. Please. I'm the only girl in the entire Computer Tech program.) Male instructor, there were panties, deoderant, etc. inside the bag. Thoroughly humiliating and I wasn't even there.
Then he proceeded to take it down to the office, who searched it again, removed the advil and Zyrtec and sent it to the school nurse, and it took me three days to get it back.
The best part? In the smaller back hidden pocket is where my friend, who I bought a 20-bag from, put the weed I paid for in advance the day before. While he engaged the instructor in an argument about whether the bag should go to the office or not...another friend of mine walked up right behind the instructor and took the baggie out, slipped it into his pocket, and made like he was throwing out his gum. Saved.
But I think the OTC-drug thing on campus is pretty out of hand...even inhalers have to be held at the nurse.
Inhalers at the nurse? What the hell? Sooo, let's say hypothetically that I was suffocating in my GYM from an asthma attack, likely place atleast yet it is the farthest away from the nurse. I'm choking and possibly going to die and I have to wait ten minutes for someone to tell the nurse I'm having an asthma attack and bring it to me. That's fucked up and ruins the point of having a pocket inhaler. BTW I do have an inhaler but I don't really need it, but it's great for being able to take big hits because it is literally steroids for your lungs.
