Here are some of my interests/values/goals:

-equal opportunity for everyone: affordable health care, housing and education are ways to do this

-the environment...I just wish people would take global warming seriously. I think gas/carbon should be taxed at a ridiculous rate to deter consumers, and then use that tax money for environmental initiatives

-equality for minorities, women specifically...women still make considerably less than men in the workforce, and have to work wayyyyy harder to get into the same position as a man.

-legalization of all drugs, I don't believe laws should exist that solely affect the individual. ie i think laws should only be there to protect society, if someone wants to 'harm' themselves with drugs that should be their right

-if I were a US citizen another of my concerns would be to ABOLISH ABSTINANCE ONLY SEX EDUCATION. stupidest thing ever, it has been PROVEN NOT TO WORK!!! It's soooo ridiculous and closed minded.

i could go on for a long time, but i will say one last thing which has really been bothering me lately. I wish Canada would sever a lot of ties with the US when it comes to trade and shit, cause the US controls Canada like nobody's business, and I hate it because the two countries are very ideologically different. Here's what bugs me the most: Canada as a country could be COMPLETELY independant. We have the most resources in the entire world, and could exist alone. Yet, we import a ton of food, water, energy, and oil (among other things) which we don't need to do. We do this, because of the ill thought out relationships we have formed with other countries, like the states. (eg. NAFTA)
