My idea of a flat tax is a tax put on ALL so called luxury goods excluding food items and "some" clothing items. Some as in non-designer style clothing. Everything else would have an additional flat tax of lets say 5% added on to the purchase price just as it is already today.

If your poor just getting by your tax rate "should" be at 0% based on purchasing no luxury goods. Joe millionaire that changes up his Rolls Royce and designer underware by the score would pay out more and with the loss of tax loop holes.

Industry would also be paying their fair share based on purchasing consumer items to keep the buisiness running and O.E.M. items for the parts needed to assemble a final product. MORE incentive to create things in house instead of farming out for goods. Parts brought in from overseas would also have a flat tax based on purchase price for the goods........call it a tariff if you like.

Why wouldn't this be passed? Because the people we have in office right now are the ones jet setting making the big bucks. I've yet to see the government pass something that would directly effect their own personal pockets.

Have a good one!:s4:

April 15th comes and there's NO taxes to worry about or all the paper work, etc....that the government now has to contend with.
Psycho4Bud Reviewed by Psycho4Bud on . Let's try something... So first off, I'm super high right now, so please excuse a potentially poor conceptualization of this idea... but I think it'll all work out... anywhoo....dotdotdot As everybody here pretty much knows, the political forums aren't exactly the "hang out and chill" area. It seems everybody (including myself) spends their time here arguing, debating, discussing, whatever you want to call it. But there's definately an "us against them" mentallity around here. So I thought it would be cool Rating: 5
