Let's try something...
So first off, I'm super high right now, so please excuse a potentially poor conceptualization of this idea... but I think it'll all work out... anywhoo....dotdotdot
As everybody here pretty much knows, the political forums aren't exactly the "hang out and chill" area. It seems everybody (including myself) spends their time here arguing, debating, discussing, whatever you want to call it. But there's definately an "us against them" mentallity around here.
So I thought it would be cool if instead of arguing, we share our values and see what we have in common. Not just in comon with your fellow thinkers, but with the conservatives, liberals, libertarians, fundy's, anarchists, nazi space-monky's, and so forth.
How we're going to do this:
I'll list off some of my ideological views. If you share any of the same, post that you agree with it. If you don't agree with some of the ideologies listed, just ignore it and don't say anything. After listing what you agree with, add some of your own if you feel so inclined. Definately clarify on a point you agree with if you'res varries a bit. So lets see what we have in common..
I believe in:
- THE LEGALIZATION, REGULATION, AND FAIR TAXATION OF CANNABIS.
- Medical care for all citizens, regardless of ability to pay.
- Taking serious action on the environment, the kind of efforts and spending nations usually put into wars...... but with something other than blowing shit up for once.
- The right of responsible, law-abiding citizens to own firearms.
- The legalization and regulation of all hallucinogens, in the purest sense (ie. salvia, shrooms, lsd, peyote, ayahuasca).
- A free market, with trade unions and social security.
- Free education, and massively subsidized (possibly free) secondary education since it's becoming so essential.
- Decriminalization of hard drug use, and harsh penalties for illegal production. If you commit crimes and it's deemed to be because of your hard drug use, you're forced into a detox camp for a period several months past the point of withdrawl. If you still go back to drug-related crime on a third offense, then you're facing jail time.
- Disarmament of all nuclear weapons, after an anti-nuke defense system has been perfected. I also don't believe a nation has the right to demand nuclear disarmament when they won't even partially do the same.
- Homosexuality, jackin off, sodomy, and oral sex are none of the government's or the law's damn business.
- Equality of all races, and I mean REAL equallity. No special laws for being a certain race, and no discrimination for being a certain race. If a certain group needs help out of the gutter, help them out. But the law regarding individual rights, taxation, and hiring practices should be the same.
- Majorly subsidized prescriptions for low-income people.mrdevious Reviewed by mrdevious on . Let's try something... Those are some good ideas you have. Only things I would tweak/add to it.
- more power put back into the hands of state government, less federal control on state matters.
- Elimination of all currency and debt, everyone scratches each others back to survive. Comparable to some forms of tribal law.
- Allow prescriptions to come from Canadian companies. Canadians are not dropping dead any faster then Americans when it comes to our medicines.
And if I did that wrong I'm sorry, and miss understood what you meant.

Now THIS should be a great thread!!!
VERY strong on the defense issue....if there is any chance that our people are going to war.....they should have the best!
Line item veto for the President.
2 term limits on congress and senate
NO special interest groups allowed anywhere near the D.C. area/ Congress, Senate, President
Flat tax
Repeal of all laws binding the hands of labor unions...it's about time the C.E.O.s learn to share again.
Legalize all recreational drugs.......put 10% of that enforcement money wasted into treatment.
The arts should be a private matter and needs no endorsement $ from the fed.
Economic aid to whatever country would be eliminated. A person with a $40,000 and is currently over 3/4 of that in debt does not give money away.
The Great Wall of Mexico would be constructed and illegals would have the option of leaving or being catapolted across the wall when caught.
Well, that's a start...........
Have a good one!:s4:

Oh ya, when our job is done in the middle east I'd use these troops and the knowledge gained to clean up our cities. The bloods, crypts, GS-13 would feel the boot of the red, white, and blue right up their candy asses! It's a damn shame that people in this country are extorted by punks on our own streets.
Have a good one! :s4:

Flat tax ( Not) I think the rich should pay a higher percentage

Except for the line Item veto, and the flat tax, I'm for all of the above. It puts too much power in the Presidents hands and we're already out of control with that, and the flat tax would burden the middle class even more.

I believe......
- True Democracy, issues voted by the people, not representatives
- Defense limited to a response and logistics capability. Citizens regulate their own militia.
- Health Care, Education and Transportation get adequate funding and provided for all citizens. Any other funding is at limited discretion.
-All election for officials are funded by the government with free, but limited access to media. No more fund-raisers, lobbyists, the works.
-Flat Tax for everyone that makes less than $500,000. Rich pay more appropriate to income.
-Ban on unions
-limited funding of art to projects with state and historical significance
-Deregulation of all illicit substances
-No military aid. Economic incentives to 3rd world countries that do business with America.
-No wall, less restrictive border controls
-Environmentally sensible
-Citizens allowed to bear arms due to militia
-free market
-consolidation of power away from coal and oil, to solely wind, water, solar, and nuclear energy
-Government stays away from religious and social issues
-Concept of race is not recognized by the government. No affirmative action
