I do consider those psychedelic albums, maybe not THE most psychedelic I've ever heard, but just about anyone who's listened to Barrett-era Floyd agrees those two albums are psychedelic in some degree or another.

By great, I mean great in MY opinion, not 'great' as in they were good examples of psychedelic albums, but I enjoyed the two as a whole.

As for mainstream? I don't think those two were mainstream per say, they sold a crapload of albums, but everyone knows that's not a good indicator of music quality. I enjoy their music not only for the guitar, but the symbolism in each concept album. As someone who looks for symbolism every day in my field, their music is heavily laid with it. Some people might not like that. That's okay.
