Most overrated band?

i don't post often on this site, but i read several threads that i think may be interesting several times a week. it's incredible to me how threads that should be based on friendly debate last roughly 4-5 posts before turning into an online battle of the bulge. i truly enjoy reading this site, but there is literally NO reason that half of the threads i read should end up like this. i enjoy pink floyd, i enjoy the beatles. i'm not much into nirvana and tool, but i'm not going to say they are overrated because i've only heard a couple songs....they just aren't the type of music that i enjoy. my time on this site is nearing its end because i feel like i can hardly read a thread these days without members continuously bashing one another. i read a thread yesterday about a guy that was having trouble getting along with his mom, and although he VERY CLEARLY stated that he respects everything she does for him, most of the return posts were personal attacks toward him. the guy had a problem about which he was looking for advice and he turned into a human fucking pinata. sorry to hijack this thread, and i don't mean any insult to anyone, but can we just debate some fucking music?

My taste in music may suck in your opinion but atleast i dont stay stuck on classic rock listening to the same mundane albums over and over again. By the way, can you even name some bands i listen to, seeing as how you know every artist i to enough to evaluate them and put them in the "sucks" catagory (sp). Why dont you rattle off a few of my favorite bands?? oh wait, you dont even know WHAT THE FUCK I LISTEN TO. you musicly ignorant bastard. i hope you really love your bells in time.

and btw, why did you quote me and respond with something as pittiful as what you said. why dont you prove me wrong instead?

Alright, first off, everyone CHILL.

This thread is packed with personal insults, and it's bullshit. If you can't get your point across without insulting someone, DO NOT RESPOND.

It's high time everyone GROW UP and learn to respond with a little maturity.

I won't close the thread, but I probably should. This is a warning though: if you feel the need to insult someone, do it another place. I'm sick and tired of seeing a bunch of high-and-mighty members feel the need to insult everyone else. Everyone has different opinions/tastes in music, so learn to DEAL WITH IT.

So if you receive an infraction for personal insults, don't come crying to us. Our actions are never unjust, nor do they EVER warrant an explanation as to why you received them. You break the rules, you pay the price.
