The reason I know so much about growing is because I completed grade 12 physics, chemistry, and biology. If you finish grade 12 basic science this is common sense. I hate drop outs association with drugs in societies veiw and I hate that it is fueled by drop outs turning to drugs, not that OP is a drop out. But I was and went back, there is no excuse to not educate yourself because you want to better yourself, not because you need an education.

Yea, this thread is harsh, O. I was thinking that myself. I'm glad rev 'somewhat' apologized for his brazenness earlier, cuz that was bothering me. I think the question is a valid one. Although, there is information out there to be found by reading and searching, it seems to me that when one "registers" here, they furthermore spend more time posting, and less time reading and searching.

Personally, I spent several months reading and searching before I even registered...I found almost ANYTHING that I needed to know. There were a couple things that were not yet clear to me, but I learned a LOT. Then when I started posting myself, I did less research and instead had more dialogue about subjects.

Honestly, if everyone on this site stopped posting any new information or repetitive threads, or even if everyone stopped posting all together (which is pretty much what has happened recently ), people would still be able to come here and learn everything they need to know to grow quality marijuana.

That being said, let me respond to a couple of the posts.

Chronic Chrissy pretty much explained HOW co2 helps plants, and why they like it, so thanks, CC.

As far as the Paintball co2 tank, I don't see why it WOULDN'T work, if you had all other factors controlled (i.e. timed ventilation, properly sealed room, proper high temperature).

With a 600w HPS, you should be able to run co2 if you set it up properly. There are various DIY methods of adding co2, some of which have already been mentioned. As far as spraying seltzer water on them, I've heard that myself as well, and honestly not sure as to how effective it actually is, but I DO know that you will be risking burning your plants from intense light refraction produced by your HID lamp if you mist them with it during lights on. I wouldn't do it.

I once watched a video with a bloke spraying soda water on to his grow, soda water gives of co2 for example like in coke or lemonade.

I dought it was very effective but still an interesting technique.

Hey, Tomthehippie, did that video happen to be the Green Man's "I Grow Chronic" video from PotTV? If you look at that video...and then look at the JOURNAL, you will find many similarities...many.

Carbonated lemonade? I think I tired that before...Fanta makes it or something...disgusting. I'll take regular lemonade any day.

I think I saw the same video Tomthehippie saw ("I Grow Chronic!"). There is a guy who is painted green and he shows you how to setup a quality grow room in a basement. He has HID lighting along with CO2 tanks, regulators, timers, the whole bit. He said:

"If I didn't have money for this" says green man talking about the CO2 system, "Well I would just use bubbly water and a sprayer, I can spray this on the plants and they will get CO2 all day long, actually, I do both."

He uses a CO2 system and a sprayer combined, just passing on a bit of info I came across about this subject:thumbsup:

No not a rumour I saw it on a grow documentary on youtube called 'how to grow green' The guy in it seems to know his shit! He uses co2 canisters but he said you can also do this its just not as practicle.

Yea thats the vid. I really dont think it would be particularly effective the ppm would be low, know where near as effective as co2 canister.

I currently use co2 tablets. but my opinion of co2; you can grow massive buds by optimizing your grow room with out co2. its easier and it helps u learn how to grow properly. loads of us dont use co2 and we get great yields. you can bet any n00b who used it would still get less than some1 who new what they were doing and not using it.

lol I'm a Noob using yeast and sugar CO2 and here's one of my northerns at 7 weeks. I'm not sure if the CO2 helped at all but they all look like that and seem to be happy.

I just fill a ketchup bottle with warm water add a cup of sugar, a packet of yeast, hang the bottle from the ceiling by a rope since CO2 isa heavier than O2, and so I can cap them and shake them once a day, the more the better. Once a week you add 1/2c of sugar.
