Sad day. Diagnosed with aneurysm. Think I have to give up weed.
Hello everyone. I am so sad and scared today.
I got an MRI for weird tingling symptoms (I'm kind of a hypochondriac and figured that was what they would tell me) well, lo and behold it showed I have a small 2mm aneurysm in the left middle cerebral artery.
Since the diagnosis, I have been a total wreck. The doc sent me home and I don't even get to consult with a neurosurgeon until March 16th. Apparently no one but me is concerned this thing is going to rupture anytime soon.
This is like a horrible nightmare. I have learned that I should not smoke...so I guess that means I have to give up weed. Hell, I also learned I shouldn't strain too much when taking a crap because that can bust it. So now I am scared to take a crap. Just when I need the weed the most I have to give it up...I'm taking Ativan but I hate pills and it's just not the same
I'm tempted to ask the neurosurgeon when I go what he thinks but I won't be able to if my grandmother is there with me cuz she doesn't know I smoke. (I'm 29 but I still pretend to be the perfect little girl.) If she found out I'm a huge pothead, or wasit would break her heart on top of this aneurysm stuff.

I'm sorry about your situation. What about vaporizing? Same or better effects, but no smoke. Take care and good luck.

First off, that aneurysm hasn't popped yet and it has been there for a while. Chances are you will be OK. Eat brownies (no coughing) and take up some form of meditation. Play quiet music ( music affects how you feel more than most folks realize). I know that the days until you see the doctor will be hard, but you are in no worse straights than you were a week ago. You just know something you didn't know before. Keep calm and try not to bite your nails too much. Hang in there! - Granny:hippy:

So sorry about your news, Tokin. I think Granny gives good advice. She's exactly right that that aneurysm hasn't appeared overnight. It's been there a while, probably all your life. And if it were likely to be life-threatening, they'd have you in the hospital now, sedated.
I've had neurosurgery to fix a venous malformation. It's a lot easier than you might think, actually. Once it's over, you can join the club by saying, "I swear, I'd rather have brain surgery than do ________," and you'll know exactly what you're talking about!\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Yeah I think you can still eat cannabis, which is my preferred method. It is much cleaner and more pottent and it last longer. It is just hard to get you valuable herb and make butter out of it. But if done right its hard to even smoke after you know how great eatting cannabis can be. In Amsterdam they were trying to ban space cake(cannabis hand cake) because the tourist would eat one feel nuthin then eat several more and 2 to 3 hours latter they would be so blazed they start to freak out. Somethin to keep in mind when eating cannabis; how much have you ate is your stomach empty? effects take any where from 15min. to 4hrs to kick in. It all depends on how full you are and how much cannabis is consumed. Personaly when my pain hits I like to take small bong tokes(to keep from coughing) then eat a health dose of cannabis. This helps the pain imediatly and the cannabis I eat usualy last about 8-12 hrs.

Could you think about humoring of us more traditional medical types and maybe not eat any cannabis either until you've checked with your doctor? Seem like you'd feelbetter being safe than sorry where your neurovascular health is concerned. That's your brain. That's where you live. Why even chance it?
