I think God exists, but I don't believe HE/She/It is an old man with a beard sitting on a cloud judging us all by how many Hail Marys we said. The thing I say to all the people who've tried to convince me their way is the only way is that I can question my beliefs, but they refuse to examine theirs. Therefore I have an advantage. Look, our central issues are about creation and afterlife. We just don't really have any answers. To accept doctrine is to close your mind. I must qualify this by saying I went to a Catholic school, and those nuns provided me with a lifetime and a half of stand-up comedy material. This is the reason I hate penguins, through no fault of their (the penguins) own.

Yes 4252, the completion of a convent education was enough to turn me off organised religion for life. We had a couple of sadistic bitches to deal with - definately not fit to be around children.

I went through the evolution of stark terror>bitter hatred>derisive insulting>humor>empathy for those old nuns. It took decades. Sure they slapped me around some, but the church (and maybe their parents) probably slapped them a lot harder. It took some considerable maturity before I imagined what it must be like for them to live in the male dominated, closed society that they existed in back then. And I wasn't an ideal kid, by any means.

But at least I have nice hand writing. (Bass kick)

Like someone else said, dying is a part of life. It happens everywhere in nature, and everything is recycled. Live they way you really want to not worrying about where youll end up when its all over.

thanks alot guys. i didnt realize i hadnt posted a reply...sorry it took so long ..some very good advise there, i now feel alot more comfortable with the idea of dieing, i still think about it but not everday like i was then...im not going for the organized religion because in my eyes they have the same amount of proof as i do....
