It does look satirical. But even if its not the main article is just this guy vomiting back up all the propaganda he's swallowed over the years...
But with regards to a brighter future, all the comments pretty much nail him on it. And for the most part, they're all very good arguments and well stated.
methinks its possible... hopefully its not all written by the same guy.

and this makes me go, huh..
Eugene supports obtaining more of our energy resources and oil from within our country. He recommends drastically expanding the production of domestic oil fields, and supports preliminary drilling efforts in places not known to harbor oil. New equipment and technology is capable of pushing the boundaries of what we know is possible, and we can use this to help alleviate our energy crisis.
Good laugh, but I hope thats just one big joke.
