Do you know what you're eating?

Its not been until recently that i've taken a bigger interest in what i eat. I've been unwell for what seems like forever and am still far from being mended but i know that what and how i eat plays a big part in many of my problems. I've been researching on t net and gained a lot of knowledge on all aspects of food and found a few things in particular quite disturbing.

I'm always reading t ingredients on food and wondering what they all are, whilst researching i came across t vege society site and suddenly realised what i've been putting inside me for so long. Maybe its just me and t thought of these things being in so much of my food is due to t fact that i dont actually like meat and am a vege anyway? http://www.vegsoc.org/info/stumbling.html

Since i found this out i've been checkin more n more out and ended up inspecting e-numbers. I know these r bad for you and avoid them but i didnt know thy were in as many things as they are, tht thy can be disguised and many are dangerous. I was extreemly disappointed when i found out some delicious Marks n Sparks biccies had E450 in which relates to f**kin peptic disorder!!! https://www.organichealthandbeauty.c...additives.html

Maybe i'm ranting about nothing, but i had to get this out. I'm interested to know how much people know about this and are aware of what they're putting in their bodies. It sickens me that these things are used in so many of the mainstream food we eat, and it scares me that these things could all be effecting us more than we know.

I for one am trying my best at keeping away from all this crap..more so than ever now i'm swatted up...apologise for the rambling...
    *hugs*

I agree with you, there's crap in everything, especially meat. The best solution is to eat organic stuff and stuff you grow yourself. Buy meat from good butchers (or don't eat it at all.) Don't buy meat in supermarkets at least.

This is nothing new. By now, everyone knows there's bad stuff in almost everything we eat. But the thing is, these foods taste so good, people choose not to care (like me, for instance).

The only way you could be as healthy as you are looking to be, is to switch to a raw food diet. If you are interested in such a thing, I recommend the book Eating for Beauty by David Wolfe (Avacado). It's a very interesting and thorough book.

i like the concept of medicine foods. not in the vaccine-in-the-potato-GE kinda way, but the varied, largeley organic vegetable, immune system fortifying diet. feed your immune system, its all the medicine you need.
