If you want joints for friends try the method I sometimes use for good joints. It takes a while and is a bit amateurish so don't do unless on your own or with real friends who wont care...

Take a cheap biro or something similar, wrap your paper round it as normal, not forgetting to lick the gummed edge and stick it down well. Slide your paper off the pen and put in a roach which you will have rolled to be just too big. Keep ripping bits off the roach until it fits snuggly. Carefully keep tipping weed into the joint (make sure you have something to catch the stuff that falls underneath) until it is nearly full, keep carefully packing it down, not too tight but not too loose using somethinglong and thinner than the joint. When you are about 1/2 cm from the end and it is nearly full, twist the end up so nothing comes out and store it safely in a tin for when you need it. When you light it I prefer to light the twisted end so its burning well by the time you get to the weed and there is time to get it in your mouth.

I still prefer pipes though, less harsh. Joints get nasty near the end. Try getting extra long Rizlas and using long roaches. I haven't tried it but that might help.
