MY faith is unique to me so if I don't keep it nobody else will.

I suppose because I have expereinced the effects of my faith in such a manner that I simply cannot NOT believe. My faith didn't start as faith, it started as fear, then moved on to wanting to please my God, but neither satisfied my inner man. It wasn't until I sought after inner peace (KOH) that I came to my current belief and faith in it. It turned this ex-tweaker into something I'm proud to be.

I don't see the point in having "faith". If I'm going to believe in things without evidence, how will I know what to believe in? I mean, is it really just a toss-up between Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Scientology, and Greek polytheism? I couldn't imagine just picking a religion and having faith in it without some kind of really compelling evidence that the supernatural exists and that that particular religion accurately describes how it works. Such evidence, it goes without saying, is severely lacking.

I believe because life is to beautiful to be made by an accident. When I'm out 15 miles in the woods on my bike, looking over creation, the beauty of it makes me know that this is not an accident. When I see my kids running around the yard, laughing and screaming, I know that this is not an accident. When I pray for strength, and I get it, I know that this is not an accident. My proof doesn't have to be proof at all. I have faith, and it has made my life all the more worthwhile.

Of course life wasn't a random accident. It was the result of gene frequencies changing in self-replicating organisms in huge numbers over incredibly long timescales. Our puny little ape minds cannot comprehend the sheer huge numbers evolved with natural selection, so we find it rather hard to believe that this purely physical non-random process could create things as complex as ecosystems and frontal lobes. But the scientific evidence supporting a naturalistic evolution of every organism on earth from a single progenitor is rock solid; there is no point in the process where the laws of physics are not in complete control and we need to evoke the powers of some mysterious invisible supergenius.

Life is indeed beautiful, but it's not made any less beautiful by the fact that it's all matter and energy moving around in spacetime according to the laws of physics. In fact, the fact that we can understand life makes it even more beautiful.

Life to me means experiences. No matter what gets us down no matter what obstacle is always seemlessly ALWAYS around the corner. That feeling of shit and utter dispair really is nothing compared to the joyous times and tear jerking beautiful experiences in your life, and thats what keeps me believing. I believe in beauty and that divine piece of me that I know exists... thats belief. I wouldnt say I belong to any religion but I do believe I belong to spirituality ,I think we all do in our own way, what makes me keep faith is knowing that I have an unconditional love that is rooted deep down inside me always trying to reach its head to the surface.
