Part of it I think is Gender Identity. Body hair is more associated with being male and masculine as men have more pronounced body hair due to our higher androgen hormone levels (which encourage body hair growth). Women conversely have less body hair and less body hair seems to be more associated with being female and feminine.

Furthermore, the same hormones in men that cause body hair to grow causes our scalp hair to fall out (cruel joke of nature if you ask me). Whereas female hormones protect and promote hair growth on the scalp. Short hair is then thus associated with 'males' and long hair with 'females'.

Basically, sex is central to human evolution and survival so naturally such distinctions tend to be exaggerated. Same with breast size. Women with large breasts and hips = fertility from a naturalistic point of view so, from a evolutionary stand point, augmenting these features help females attract males. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this :thumbsup:

My hair is quite coarse (dunno if that's a byproduct of shaving for 3 years?) and that's why i like to shave it off...it's not soft or anything when it is long. I wish it was...IMO the women who have really light, and soft pubic hair are sooooo lucky!! they are the ones who can easily get away with next to no maintance down there.

I wax every 6-8 weeks, and shave in between for maintainance. 3 reasons. Heat: I cannot tolerate heat, so I do whatever possible to minimize things that hold heat in. Hygiene: I feel cleaner, longer with a bald cookie. Former occupation: I used to be a stripper. Less hair= More $$$. Also, if you're dancing in a bikini bar, it is actually against state law to have pubes showing. It's easier to take it all off than to try to trim it evenly. And the thongs we wear a really really tiny. It's hard to hide hair behind an eyepatch.

I've had a bald cookie since I was 16. I see no earthly evolutionary reason for humans to still have pubic hair. For the most part, we no longer run around the tundra naked or in a loincloth.

Yeah well it is like people with straight hair want curly hair and people with curly hair want straight hair (hair on the scalp that is LoL)! Personally Dutch, I think you're the lucky one. I know you may not like the thicker hair but the thicker hair can be related to healthy levels of androgens in your body which can great for the sex drive and sex itself! Maybe that is why you spend so much time here in the sexuality section
