natural phospherous?

Hi all,

this is my 1st organic grow and i've been having some problems lately which i've just found out was because of a phospherous deficiency.

Now that i know the problem, would there be anyone out there kind enough to help me with an all natural, organic :hippy: answer.

P.S.: They are going into their second week of flower and this problem has seriously slooooowed their growth, is there anhything i can do to get them back on track so to speak?

bone meal.. should have been mixed into the soil...
also look for some of the fish/seaweed products have a solid P level, I've used the Neptune's Harvest in the past
Bat guano tea is another fantastic source
or you could look into liquid organic stand-alone ferts such as pure blend pro bloom.

I haven't heard about bat guano tea but i do add guano and worm casting to my mix. can you tell me a bit about guano tea? how is it made? diy or purchased that way?

I've never had to make it since I added guano to my soil mix for the final flowering transplant.

ive read, and tried it this way, just disolve the guano in water and some people use a fish pump to get the aerobic bacteria growing. i did it but i dont know if it makes a difference. btw ive been telling people that ive been using bat, and it turns out that it is seabird guano. all of it doesnt disolve for me, there is a fine silt left afterwords. which i just dump into the pot after swishing around a little water. some people actually make a tea bag with a cloth hanky or something, my guess is for hydro systems.

i've heard llama dung and bat guano tea (like stinkyattic said) is really good for phosphorus. takes a couple days to brew though from what i've been told. i guess you just fill a pillow case up with the shit and boil up a big metal trashcan full of water and use the pillow case as a shit teabag.

It's true that water of a higher temperature generally dissolves solids better than cold water, but if you're looking to establish and encourage beneficial bacteria, I'd avoid using boiling water - high temps kill the good stuff. Probably not a total kill off, but counterproductive nonetheless.

Remember hearing about how you should boil your drinking water in dire times of contamination? It's done for a reason.

As far as the guano tea goes, I've have good results just using normal temp water and letting it sit for a few days, let the solid matter get good and soaked. Periodically agitate the hell out of it - after a while you'll notice the water maintain more of a constant hue while the gritty, water proof solids stay on the bottom of your container.

Voila, tea time!

i was having the same problem.. i got bone meal so hopefully that helps. If i got some of the bone meal on the plant will that hurt it?

yes mix up the teas yourself, its alot cheaper that away.

when brewing the tea 70s-low 80s is great to attract microheard life. if temps are too low or high the microheard has a harder time surviving and killing off the bad bacteria and life.
also when brewing your tea its best to brew from 24-72 hrs depending of the guano type, if its the powder type 24 is good enough, if its pellets and keep whole brewing for 72 hrs is alot better(but i crush up my pellets).

if you brew your teas and dont use airpumps or agitators your mixture becomes anarobic and the bad bacteria start to thrive and kill off the good microheards. that is not good. and when you are brewing your teas and you see a foam on top of the water it is a good idea to skim off the top and throw away, its dead bacteria and useless and helps the tea to stink more

when making tea, in a 5gal bucket i use about 3 tablespoons of either high n or p guanos with ewc and mollasses and seaweed product. the mollasses is a great food source for the microheard bacteria
