Genuine 21st Century talent
My other thread was a little on the negative side, so here's a thread for everyone to express their appreciation for the truly great artists and bands out there. I'm talking the ones that really blow your mind and are the future, so you'd better have a good reason to back up your choices.
Just to mention a couple, i'm gonna say Amon Tobin on the electronica scene (www.myspace.com/tobinamon). His new album Foley Room is the first electronic work i've heard that is truly experimental yet 100% accessible. Amazing mastery of sounds and sonic environments. It'll blow your brains out! Second, i'm gonna say Boards of Canada (www.myspace.com/abeautifulplace). I would say they turned a genre on it's head but i'm not even sure what genre that would be, totally amazing and a classic stoner favourite.
I urge everyone to check out those names.imp:
So, what do you guys think is a fine example of 21st century musical genius? (Please, please don't just make a list of bands that you like and then wander off leaving everyone confused as to why Linkin Park are the future of music)

There are quite a number, but I think there's one band no one knows about, that deserves a lot of praise. Jail
www.myspace.com/jailjailjailjail
They're in the underground of the underground, my brother's ex-band played with them, that's the only reason why I heard of them. But I put on their EP, The Jail EP, and my mind was blown away from how good it was. A fresh rock-n-roll album that pays homage to it's roots, but retains a sense of originality.
I doubt these guys are saving music anytime soon, but they remind everyone that rock is far from dead.

Boards of Canada is pretty trippy, they used to be one of my favorites, I was all over The Campfire Headphase when it first came out, that was such a great album.
Do Make Say Think or Godspeed is some of the best music ive heard this centuary.
