I stay on the 2nd floor and have the entire thing to myself, there's no reason for anyone to come up the stairs unless they are going to my room. So is this legal or an invasion of privacy? My room my responsibility is what I think. The thing that really sucks is I was just getting around to telling him about me smoking and that it's something I do on my own time and doesn't need to be worried that I'm some drug addict or something, but now that is almost impossible.
IF your paying rent all that they could search is his private living area and the common areas shared. YOUR personal room isn't up for search.

If the P.O. was to smell it when they entered though...they might be able to get a search warrent to enter your space based on suspicion.

Have a good one!
