A water sprayer works wonders. A simple quick squirt of water from a sprayer is all it takes when your cat is doing something you don't like.It is a very quick learning tool since you know how much cats love water.Don't abuse it by chasing them around and stuff just observe on a weekend or when ever you are in garden your kitten. When she gets to close or ready to take a bite "squirt".Its not crule and they fig. it out real quick. If you can't do this then I am sure the hot sauce would do the trick. You can make your own by using a variety of hot peppers, some garlic, (mites hate garlic)and some onion. This "tea" should keep the kitten from chewing leaves and also work well against insects.Soft bodied insects get a nice burn sensation and leave garden. Before you spray leaves with tea or your fert or what have you add a drop or two of liquid dishsoap. This acts as a wetting agent "makes water wetter" and will not bead off your leaves.
