it's not a matter of being ok with anything, it's a matter of being realistic. all that is being thrown in your face is the confidence born of two hundred years of advances and the occasional bit of ignorance from some cocky bigot. if mexico wishes to hold a centuries old grudge because their expansionist dreams couldn't compete with the similar dreams of the us, then i'd say they deserve their status as a third rate world power. the us hasn't kept the people of mexico and central america ignorant and impoverished, that was the work of their own governments. instead of grousing over imagined past grievances, maybe they should be working to improve the standings of their own countries. instead of running off and searching for riches in someone else's back yard, maybe they should put in the effort to change their own homes into someplace worth fighting for.
