What is Heaven
Inspired by a post on another board. I'm curios what those that believe in heaven view it to be. Is it a literal place after death, and if so what about hell; is it a literal place as well. Why do you think what you think, and do you believe that you'll make it there?

What is Heaven
I don't believe in heaven. I am extra confused at the moment on what I believe. I still don't believe in death, and I am slowly begining not to believe in life. Hell doesn't seem probable as a place. If anything I am in Hell right now. I already failed whatever test I was taking. Heaven to me seems more like a state of mind. Maybe hell is a state of mind too.

What is Heaven
Matt, I didn't find my station till I got into my mid thirties, lol! I felt like I failed so many times, but the truth is that my failures turned into important lessons learned, even if I didn't realize it at the time. Sure, it all sucked ass, and I felt miserable, but through that misery I eventually found my belief/faith. I got tired of my state of 'being', hated it, resisted it, resented it, and nothing ever made it better. It didn't help that I was/am schizoaffective. What a trip this illness is, man. From one extreme to another until I found something that helped keep me balanced. You already know what, so I won't go any further than that, cool?
I personally think you're on to something with that "State of mind" view. Only I view it to be more than just mind; our intellect is one thing, but we experience things on much deeper, more personal levels; I call it soul/spirit. In all honesty, I think heaven starts within, will spread to other individuals, and eventually all peoples will have that peace, and the result will pe peace on earth (Heaven) It will be a very long time before we find this kind of peace, tho. All we can hope for is to find it within ourselves in the now. If life goes on after death, it is my view that we will simply be reborn into the world we live behind. (Just a hunch) If we find our peace in this lifetime, we will have it in the next, and if not then we have infinate lifetimes to find it. That's my view. Certainly not the mainstream Christian view, but it's the only view that makes sense to me at the moment.
The reality is that it doesn't matter what comes after. What matters is how you spend your time today. I know you're not a Christian, but the bible says, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself." " Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom"
Take care, man,
Junk~

yeah the bible is a hard one to chew sometime, lol. I hated it for years, but only because I didn't see what I see now. Yeah, I think we all experience a little bit of hell, man. Some worse than others, then I also think that we all experience a little bit of heaven. Some more than others, lol. It all depends on environment, and what we choose to cling to spiritualy, ya know? I'm starting to get back in the bible teachings big time, but only because my views are starting to match up. Traditional Christianity (To me) has twisted it so out of porprtion it's almost disturbing. No, I take that back, it is disturbing. I completely understand why you stear clear of it, and I don't blame you one bit.
One Love, man!

While to some that doesn't sound very interesting, it is literally the overflowing fullness of all that is good and possible for mankind.
