    Email vs IM

Why is it ok to have IM names listed in one's profile, but not post email?

Both are legitimate ways to contact someone you'd like to chat with outside of this forum.

I use trillian, so yes i can support multiple IM names, but u know what, i'd like to use email instead. I understand its to avoid "hookups" and "MOM" requests. But know what, i could just as easily do that on IM as email.

You're closing one contact method, yet embracing another?

Not having email links in your sig is protecting you from spammers...

I have no interest in putting it in a sig.

    Try this one, then, Ninfan:

Because that's the rule here, like it or not.

    try what?

e-mail addresses can be put in profiles yes i know, but i took my one off precisely because i was getting nasty spammy virus mails (which stopped after i took my addy off)... bottom line is, doesnt matter where you put your e-mail on this site, you'll probably get spammed.... and as far as "MOM", a mod himself told me.... "they can't control what they can't see " so what does it matter if someone posts their e-mail? it's got nothing to do with this site what people do offsite, just don't talk about it here, Simple as... anyone with half a brain should know that.
