li ke i said in the other thread i agree with you on lair... it had high hopes but now alot of people are starting to lose faith in it....

but that's not because of ps3, that's because of the devs, just like the 360 didn't make gears of war great, the devs did..

anyone who holds games against a system obviously doesn't belong in the debate (and i'm not refering to you) as the game is only as good as the dev makes it.

and also like i said, i never personaly had any problem with the ps2's and i've owned three now, none from them breaking down tho but i don't say that and mean it's impossible....

personally th eonly reason i feel microsoft finally decided to admit to it was because if they kept denying it, it WOULD have been the end of their gaming cut.... i remember watching th enews and hearing the stories when the 360's first released right before christmas... the day they had mass returns microsoft said basicly you're all shit out of luck.... the next day they issued a new statement saying they would take care of the problem...

if you look hard enough you can find it, i garuntee what i say tho, and it did happen, the statement was just retracted pretty quick because of all the negative attention they were getting

i still see it this way tho... if i'm spending hundreds on a system i expect it to work... i don't want to have to send it off to have it fixed, free or not, i want to be able to play it until it's been worn down from years of use or a newer system comes out...

xbox's also have a wide range of errors and shit.. my brother and nearly everyone of my friends had problems with the original ones too...

to me, that's more than enough to make me not go for it... some of the games on xbox are great, but the games aren't great enough to make me go deal with a shotty system.... you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting your system and having to part with it for atleast two weeks for microsoft to fix a problem thta shouldn't have been there in the first place...

it's also true that it's expected of any mass produced item to hav eproblems... but 33% is too high for me.... much too high..

It's because Sony products and dealings with them also come with a undisclosed broom handle and jar of vasoline. I've been on the end of that shtick before and don't plan on it again. Microsoft has put everything face up on the table and they are fixing their problems, unlike Sonys denial with their high % breakdowns of early model PS2s. New 360s will not have 30% breakdown probability and if yours is an older one and does breaks down you can send it in and get it repaired for free for the next 3 years.

Again nothing the PS3 has shown has been only marginally better than the 360 and of course not even extra disc space can suddenly make the game good. Look at the response Lair is getting, that game is a steaming pile lol.

This isn't the topic for this but, it was not one but 3 PS2s that were "buggering up" and it was Sony's attitude about it and it was other broken promises they made last gen. It was more than simply bad hardware.

Microsoft came out fairly quickly (compared to Sony) not only that they are going out of their way to remedy the situation. You can't expect them to recall 10 Million 360s for replacement or fixing. I think their way of handling the situation is very good.

Oh and seeing as how many Sony fanboys have pretended there never was a problem with the PS2 and even so much as called those of us that did liars or console mistreaters just because they themselves never actually experienced an issue with the PS2. You know things like "I've had my PS2 since 1745 BC and it's never given me any problems so you must be doing something" So since my 360 is still running why should I get all bitter at MS?

i never said you mistreat it just becuase mine didn't break... anything can break, anything can be defective... but me personally i have owned 3 ps2's and never any problem... my brother took the first one after i got locked up, i sold the next one cuz at the time all we were doing was partying and i only had one game for it anyways so it didn't really get messed with, then when gta:sa came out i got the new slim model ps2... still have it sitting up in the attic.

xbox is a legend, i PERSONALLY think it kicks playstation hands down. for a start the sixaxis is shite and a blatent added bonus to try and under cut the wii and has no rumble. blu ray well that is debated technology and could quite easily go the way of beta max.but the main thing that xbox have that works amazingly well is their online features. the whole system and the way it is implemented kicks sonys ass. i just like the way that microsoft implicates things.
but its a debate no side has a winner, sales are an inaccurate representation of a consoles greatness. it just means less people bought it, not that it is inferior.
the fact that there are 3 different consoles is healthy, it keeps prices at a 'ahem' minimum and keeps up competition.
the world would be boring if we all went out and bought a ps3 or an xbox.

but the one thing i really fucking hate is fanboys. damn they are gay as fuck. go out, get laid once in a while

you will realise non of this actually matters
