fucking hell, i hope everyone that bought a 360 is happy with the retards who made your console that isnt capable of jackshit.

How does this have ANYTHING to do with 360 Developers? Zero.

Hell considering how likely fake that UK blog article is, technically we have no clue what the reasons were that caused the delay. Seriously it doesn't make sense. All the articles before have stated that PS3 Version was behind in production by a few weeks over the 360 version. All the trailers shown have been from the 360 version. I find it highly doubtful the 360 version is to blame.

As far as you know it could very well be the PS3 version that's causing the delay. It may not even be any consoles, I find it funny that the delay was moved to a different "fiscal" year which makes me wonder if the delay was on Rockstar for financial reasons. I mean look at all the great games being released this fall anyways. GTAIV will sell MUCH better if it comes out during a dry spell. This could be a Rockstar ploy to increase sales.

I was pissed when I first heard the news as I have a preorder on it and it was the only game I was giddy for this fall. But regardless whos to blame for the delay this will give more time for testing and any additions they may want to add. So all in all it's a bummer now, but potentially great thing in the long run. I'd rather wait a few extra months and have a more polished game than get it October and have some stupid ass glitch like the Xbox Vice City Pedestrian Glitch or something like that.

i looked on the gta forums to try and find a few reasons why its been delayed and found a few possible things.

i know.. id just found out about the delay and was VERY pissed.

i did read somewhere that it could be the ps3.... two sony guy went to rockstar not too long ago and showed them that differant parts in the console they could use to make the game even better.
which if you ask me sounds like a more logical explanation... because it doesn't take six months to polish a game.

either way and for whatever reason the games not coming almost another year. so if it was because of sony im still pissed even if the game is better.

and another thing.... the game better be FUCKING PERFECT.

Two of of the biggest games due in 2007 are Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV. As luck would have it, they're coming out within a couple weeks of one another - despite what you may have heard to the contrary.
Rumours prompted by an analyst note had it that Rockstar could delay Grand Theft Auto IV until November, but the company has come out today to deny the claims.

We contacted the company for comment and were told that the game is on track for release in "late October".

Grand Theft Auto fans have had October circled as the date for the arrival of the first Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 instalment since last year. Microsoft surprised many people by revealing in May that Halo 3 would be out in late September. According to one analyst, that could be a problem.

In a note to investors, relayed in part by GameDaily, analyst Michael Pachter speculated that troubled Rockstar parent company Take 2 could push back the release of Grand Theft Auto IV into its next financial year, which begins in November.

"We believe that a two-week delay would provide a reasonable gap between the launch of Halo 3 and the launch of GTA IV, and would actually help sales of both games," he wrote.
Rockstar's comments will come as sweet relief to GTA fans anxious to play the first game in the series for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

i'm still fucking pissed about it and i won't get over it... i bought my ps3 majorly to get GTAIV (when SA came out i had to go buy a ps2 as well...) and it was like 2 months away! 2 fucking months! then they go and change the release date now it's like 8 months a-fucking-way! goddamnit... that means i'll of been waiting for this game for over a year by the time i get it... the thing that pisses me off more is the fact that this is the only game i have ever cared about to this extent... any other game i can wait til it comes out and i don't get mad when it gets pushed back....

and melkane... like i said earlier, just becuase the ps3 version is behind doesn't mean (if a console was responsible) that it's the reason for the delay.. it could very well easily mean the 360 is still the reason for the delay, and they're having a hard time working with the 360... so they have to concentrate on it more therefore, putting the ps3 on the back burners for the time being.

i also think rockstar should fucking tell us plainly and clearly what the cause of the delay is.... they're being so evasive and it's causing alot of uproar, especially between 360 and ps3 owners... everyone's blaming the other (for the most part) i believe we have a right to know what's going on in full detail

First up to bat is video game analyst extraordinaire, Michael Pachter who told our pals at GameDaily BIZ, "We think it is likely that the Rockstar team had difficulty in building an exceptionally complicated game for the PS3, and failed to recognize how far away from completion the game truly was until recently." Of course, he means really recently, since Take-Two did just reaffirm their plans to ship the game in October as recently as E3 (yeah, the one last month).

We know what you're thinking: Why not release the game for Xbox 360 in ought seven, and ship the PS3 release whenever it's ready (everyone else seems to be taking this course of action)? Pachter further surmises "that Take-Two had a contractual commitment to Sony that it would not favor competitor Microsoft by launching the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV prior to launching the PS3 version," calling it "the only plausible explanation."

that's the exact same (but opposite) thing i read on the playstation forums....

anyways i feel the need to keep reiterating what i said... regaurdless i'm pissed... i'm only going to 'take it out on 360' so to speak if rockstar or take two flat out say, on their offical site it's 360/microsoft's fault.

Actually looking at the fall lineup for PS3, the big game they were relying on was GTAIV. They have no giant release this fall, so this is a huge hit to them, despite their PR. Meanwhile 360 still has a list of big name titles to fall back on.
