problem with that is people might use them for spam/adverting or they may use large/animated images in signatures thus using allota bandwidth and slowing down the site

Limit the image size? Also certain parameters.

Yea i hear u thats a possibility but even if the max size was say 50kb if allot of people had them in large threads it would slow it down still

Not a great deal though, there's only a certain amount of posts on each page.

maybe, i dont really know i used to run a site and its strange but small things slow shit down, if 20 people are viewing one thread then it would slow it down, plus ive seen the feature on other sites and it caused problems there (not just bandwidth)

im all for the idea though

admins, please allow images in our sigs, but not too big if you want restrictions maybe like 400x400 pixels.. thats not too bad

strange that i used to go to a site with a hell of a lot more members than this place, all of whom used image/banner sigs, alot of which would actually be animated... much like one of my own

add to this that this site was also connected to a game server, allowing members to browse who was playing at that time.... i say its strange cuz that site was actually alot faster than this site, with or without the likes of firefox.

i don't know much about sites and bandwidth, but surely a site like this could afford a better bandwidth.

and you can put restrictions on the sizes and content of banner sigs.


if this were to go to a vote then i would vote yes to banner sigs, but then again.... does my opinion really count?
