No theme? Got sigs?

so i think its settled... sigs wont disturb anyone, laggy people can turn them off.
if you dont like waiting for the pics to load, turn them off.

Fat chance mate, if only it was that easy to settle something like this. I really do think having sig's would be a positive thing though. Also possibly bumping up the post count would be a good idea. Maybe 100 or 200 posts instead, that would save bandwidth too. You often see people get 50 - 100 posts and then leave and never return, obviously with picture sig's enabled it's just using up bandwidth and time.

as far as i know (and i've been a member of a lot of sites with banner sigs) you can only turn off your own sig, not anyone elses.

In your UserCP, Edit options, Thread display options, you can choose to show avatars, signatures and images.
If you uncheck those, you won't see avatars, signatures or inline images.

At peak hours, this site already slows way down to the point where loading a thread just doesn't happen because the server is too busy.

Adding sigs would make it even worse.

I really enjoy some good lookin sigs, but how many people would actually have decent sigs? Most would be crap and that isn't worth it to me when I'm trying to load a thread to look at some beautiful mary.

I've possbily experienced lag on this site once or twice, but as far as I can remember I haven't at all. I dont think sig's would cause as many problems as most of you seem to think they will.

who says most would be crap, i have made many many sigs for other people, some have given me a particular theme to run with, and some just let you do what you want, i've made more sigs for other people than i have for myself, and i'm sure i wouldn't be the only person on here to do this kind of thing who would be more than happy to make something for others... basically all the forums i've been to that use banner sigs there are usually a small number of artists that make the majority of the sigs, to us it's a hobby, and we don't accept crap if its crap then it aint finished.

if cannabis.com did start doing this, i would probably just make sigs for people without them even asking lol (i do that when i'm bored).

the only thing i think that would work to allow banner sigs, would be to make people sign up if they even wanted to access the forums, that way it would get rid of all the guests, people would have to sign up just to look here you know, like i notice if i'm not logged in, then i can't view the feedback board, make the rest of the forums like that and your slow server problems would be solved... i think
