i just cloned after 5 weeks veg from seed.. i took most of the clones off of the top but they're all so big and thick stemmed.. can i take the little skinny fresh branches off of the sides too and clone those ? is the top better to clone b/c the side branches look like they would look a lot neater in my rapid rooter tray lol.. well tell me what ya think i hope i didnt clone the wrong part.. after i did all the tops theyr'e so big and crowded in the tray i wish i just did teh side skinny branches but i dont know if i can..

Yep, as long as the branch you are cloning has a node you can use it from the side, top, bottom, wherever. The tops generally root quicker, and may need less veg time to fill out to your liking, but both can make the same size plant with the right veg time

i disagree w/tokudai for the first time!! I have found that my lower branches root first. pick the freshest softest new growth and it will clone fastest.

seconded, what would turn into fluff is now recycled into clones, leave your top colas alone to beef up real nice:jointsmile: . Peace

ya, I look at it the same way as Blaze IDO because those side and lower branches are screwed anyways if there isn't enough light to make the buds big enough so they are best used as clones anyways. I have also found that they root quicker as well. Not only that but the plant you cut the clones from will benefit from not having the sicklings hanging off the sides and bottom not getting enough light.
