    i have a heat problem

Repairing dry wall is not all that hard all you need is a piece of sheet rock and joint compound. If you really wanna know more I can help. Are you planning on upgrading the light?. Lotta people stay away from the home depot inclines, maybe as a duct booster if air has to travel through duct along way. Have you looked into a 4in fan like vortex, can fan or even the squirrel cage exhausts. Any of those would be plenty sufficient. Even could hook it up to a can filter and just leave it on 24/7. Replenishes air constantly, no smell, exhausts heat when lights are on. Hang it high in the closet. Fan can be in or out of the closet depending how you can set it up. And if you plan on putting holes in the walls, dont make a bunch of nice and remember measure twice and cut once.

    i have a heat problem

ok so i have to cut in both closets there seems to be a 2" gap between the closets. the other closet is stuffed with christmass stuff so it will be some work. when i patch it i plan on attatching over the repaired wall one of those touch lights to hide the repair job. i just need to suck out the hot air. so one of those inline boost fans is all ill probably need. it will only have to pull the air through about 6" of 6" diameter flex hose then through the wall into a elbow pipe then into about 10" of flex tube. i should atleast move 80 cfm. if i need odor control i will make one of those 5 gal buckeyt deoderizers where you put in that polimer that absorbs the liquid with frabreeze in it and a fan in the top.
but i am going to be growing a lowryder for my first grow.(a very kind person from ireland is sending me some for free). and i was told they have almost no odor is that true?

Whats up spankey, wanna wish you luck with the cuts. Just did another cut last night to seal my air cooled light from the room. Used a nice sharp razor blade and it worked nicely. Are you still leaning towards an inline duct booster. Interested to see how you set this up. Can you get us some pics?

I cut a hole in the ceiling of my closet to vent the heat. The proper tool for this is a keyhole saw. They are not expensive and any home improvement store will have them. Keep the part you cut out and you can use it to plug the hole when you move. Even a half-ass patch job likely won't be noticed in the ceiling of a closet during your move out inspection. If you're really worried about it buy a book on drywall.

It is not healthy for the attic to vent heat into it, but if it is an apartment you don't necessarily have to worry. (Unless the smell is going into your neighbors apt.)

Ideally you want to pull the air through a carbon filter and vent directly out to the roof. This is how bathroom and some kitchen fans are vented. If you can get into the attic you'll see flexible tubes going from the vent fans to the roof. You can find all kinds of adapters and tubing at home improvement stores.

    Good luck growing your broccoli
