Look, we're there, and that's it.
Nothing we can do will change that.
The reasons for us being there, have been discussed and debated, and will continue to be so until it ends - and then there'll be documentaries that carry on the arguments.

All I was saying, is that there are at least 1000 American familys, unknown quanties of UK troops' families, and thousands upon thousands of Iraqis families, who will be spending christmas without a loved one, this year.

I spare a thought for them, as I imagine how I'd feel if it were a loved one of mine....
