LTE's aren't our only tools to influence the media. Informational emails like the ones you sent make it more likely they'll cover the issue if you help them with their "homework." I would encourage everyone to send "resource" emails to journalists. Unlike LTE's you don't even have to use your real name! Anyone can do this type of activism.
