If it were that easy, we'd have a hundred It's Alright Ma(s), Desolation Row(s), Mr. Tambourine Man(s) (and if you've only heard the cruddy Byrds version, for all intents and purposes, you've never heard the song), Ballad of a Thin Man(s), and Chimes of Freedom..ses.
Whatever the situation, Dylan's music spoke a lot of truth, and spoke it well to a lot of people, and continues to, today.
As for his voice, it changed substantially throughout the years. Some songs I can't even imagine being sung in anyone else's voice.
"Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred."
