question about stinky's cloning method..
I seriously recommend staying away from superthrive. I have used it twice with disastrous results. Besides, its expensive and you don't need it for cloning. I am one of those people that swears by rockwool. To effectively use rockwool you should get a bottle of clean filtered water, put it into a pot and boil it. Once it is boiling (or near boiling) put your rockwool cubes in the water all together and turn the burner on low. Let them boil for about 10 minutes and then take them out. Now they will be fully saturated and cleansed. For best results let them sit out over night in a well ventilated area. The next morning they will be ready to use!
To get good clones cut from the lower & or side branches. Make a clean diagonal cut near the base (where the node is). If you dont know what a node is, do some research. Once you have made the cut take a glass of water and place the end of the clone stem under water. Using your sharp razor blade again make another cut (under the water) so that oxygen won't get sucked up into the shoot of the clone immediately. Take your blade, and using a scraping motion lightly scarify the base of the stem about 1/4 of an inch all around. Once this is done dip into a rooting hormone (power or gel) and place in your rockwool and you're done.
