Thomas Edison, who was a great inventor, was put down by the catholic church and the pope for 1 of his inventions. The lightening rod!!!
It seems that the pope at that time thought that lightening was gods way to punish the wicked people and that dear edison was interfering with gods work . So, the pope blasted Edison in an official papal release saying " how dare edison try to prevent god wrath on evil people". this is just 1 more reason for me to wonder what my parents were thinking sending me to catholic schools for 12 years. It's amazing the pope thought and acted on things like this. Just goes to show you how stupid and misinformed the catholic church can be.
