    Drug Awareness

I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of possible effects of smoking weed and other drugs. I'm not trying to put down any drug, i just wish i was warned before hand. Its a good idea to know the possible side effects, even if they are 1 in 1 million chance.

    From my experience:

    Weed:

-In my opinion it has brought out, intensified my OCD causing me intense anxiety even when sober.
-It has giving me panic attacks even though i thought i was an "experienced user."
-It has caused me to hallucinate more intensely than mushrooms.
-It has completely fucked with my head, bring out the "am i insane?" side of me.

HPPD or Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder
-This is something i really wish someone would have told me about. I never heard of it until i started to experience it. (i don't know whether or not it was caused by weed or shrooms because both make me hallucinate.)
-a usually (though not always) long-term condition caused by taking psychedelic, dissociative or deliriant drugs (Hallucinogens). People with this condition experience perceptual (usually visual) distortions even after the "trip" is over and the drug and its metabolites have left the body.
-Some visual aberrations are normal, and are often experienced by many people who have never taken drugs. These include floaters (black/dark objects that appear to be floating on the eyes, particularly visible when looking at the bright sky or on a white wall). Likewise, bright lights in an otherwise dark environment may generate trails and halos. Most people may notice these effects, however they are not distressing to the individual and are typically not apparent until they are pointed out to the individual. However, an individual with HPPD is overwhelmed from the symptomatology, and the range of symptoms are so severe that the individual can not simply ignore them as a part of the regular visual experience. An individual may have clear, defined borders around images in their visual field prior to the drug use, and then following the end of the drug's action, will have lost the ability for this border contrast and lose visual acuity.

The chronic form of HPPD may include one or more of the following symptoms: Halos around objects, trails after objects (usually after bright objects on a dark background or vice versa), difficulty in distinguishing between colors, colors of objects changing while looking at them, geometric hallucinations (sometimes called pseudohallucinations, due to the fact that the person recognizes that the hallucinations are not "real"), illusions that objects are moving even when they are not, static (like static from a television superimposed on what the person is seeing) also called aeropsia or visual snow, objects changing sizes while looking at them and floaters.

Weed is not for me, and may not before you. I urge you to do your research before deciding if you want to take the risk. I didn't, and now im stuck with a distorted vision for as long as a year or more. It is difficult to fall asleep when you have bright, vibrant close-eyed visuals.

For all you experienced users, id be nice to add to this list as a reference.

Yeah. I am pretty sure I got that HPPD shit. It sucks ass. I use to see tracers when sober and shit, I still do sometimes, I also see colors appear randomly or shit gets kinda weird and blurry/twisted which is what happens to me once acid starts to kick in.

I've had it since before I started using any kind of drug. I don't mind it at all.

^ didnt let me edit........I'll be staring at a wall, and I can see the patterns of the wall changing and shifting depending what part I concentrate on. Then I imagine the wall is expanding and contrasting with my breathing, and I see it bend and warp slightly. Also if I stare at somthing and imagine that it has dissapeared, it will fade out and be replaced by static fuzziness. Its really very interesting, I think I would miss it if it was gone.

its only bad because combined with OCD, when i try to sleep at night, and i close my eyes i get disturbing closed-eye hallucinations that cause high levels of anxiety. I often mess around with it when i am content though. Like sam said, i sometimes sit in bed and look at my celling fan shadow, if i concentrate hard enough one of the blades will disappear. There are other manipulations i can create if i think hard enough. It just sucks having to OCD and HPPD.

Still i wish i would have known before hand. In some cases it worsens with age.

Careful making self diagnoses, and tons of people have HPPV its very common. I used to see hundreds of tiny red sqares in the dark when I was little.
