I started kindergarten during the early 1980's and I can recall being fingerprinted at the beginning of term, every single fall, until I reached the sixth grade. I have no idea why my school did that. My parents didn't seem to be bothered by it.

About twice a year, they send these little Ident A Kits home, for us to give them permission to fingerprint the kids, supposedly for their own safety. BULLSHIT.
