ok so i dont 100% agree with any of you if it got to the point where pot was destroying my relations with my best friends id have to say fuck it I'm out. Call me weak or whatever but chillin high w/o my best friends just dosnt measure up to the times chillin with my best friends. So on the priority chain Friends > Pot. Try to talk it over with them though maybe you can come to some sort of an agreement. ( my best friends dont smoke pot to clarify that) just my .02 cents on this topic

His friends are out of line. Friends are special, why waste your time with people like that. They can quit if they like, but there is no reason for them to give him a choice between the two.

Yes that's the way I see it too. Friends accept you for who you are. They are deciding what they is right or wrong for everyone.


It is sad to lose such old friends though. I would sure try to reason with them one more time maybe they are just being jerks and they'll get over it.

I mean, I love ganj just as much, if not more than, the next guy, but I still have a life while sober as well. Not everybody handles ganj as well as others, same goes for alcohol, and stripclubs for that matter. Regardless of how hypocritical is may seem for cig smokers who like strippers to tell you that you have a problem, it raises the question...

They could really be your friends, or maybe they're just assholes, I don't know. Its so easy to get exactly what you want out of people on the internet, because you just tell them "all the relevant facts".

my wife once tried something similar... i called her bluff... i still smoke and i still got her...

if they really are your friends they won't ditch you just because you refuse to give it up... although if you might have a problem... maybe you should cut down some...

a problem doesn't even mean you don't do it everyday... a problem is when it starts getting in the way of your life.... when you need food or something and spend it on drugs or alcohol, or you steal to supply your habbit.. or keep losing jobs over it ect ect...

shit when i worked i came home to beer every damn day, if not beer and bud... but i was always there at work, early the next day.. i never let drugs/alcohol get in the way of my life... well there was this one time, doing somethign i can't speak of here.... both me and my brother got really into it, but then he quit doign it and i was still doing it every single day... me and him got in a huge ass fight over it... and this isn't soemthing you can do and function, so it was getting in the way of my life... but i was addicted to it and i couldn't see clearly really... i ended up kicking my brother out because of it...

later i finally 'woke up' and saw what it was doing to me... and i stopped and never picked it up again... of course there are times when i still want to, but i won't let myself relapse... haven't touched the shit in over 2 years now...

maybe you should re-evaluate yourself, to make sure their thoughts aren't grounded... maybe you do have a problem but you just can't see it cuz you're not looking for it? only you can really tell you if you have a problem.. other people can just bring it to your attention.
