rubbermaind grow box can be done outside?

alright, i posted this in the outdoor forum. seemed a little out of place i guess. since it's not natural sunlight that will be giving light. but this will be done outside.

what i'm trying to do here is have the rubbermaid box outside in a hole since i don't have anywhere to put inside, and i can't just openly grow it out in the backyard, so it needs to be stealthed.

so i had a dream. i kid you not. to place the rubbermaid grow box in a hole in the ground. the hole will be lined with a tarp to prevent water from getting in the box and causing electrical problems with the CFL's and fans. a simple roof will be made of 2x4's and plywood to cover the top and prevent rain to getting to the box. out from the bottem will be the PVC passive intake tube. all the opening of course will be sealed as usual for the grow box. since i don't want bugs getting it i'll hook the pvc upside down, and i can install screens to prevent any flying insects from getting in. the extension cord is coming from my house. i actually have a electrical outlet where the woods in my yard begin for a pond system that has a water fall. so thats no problem.

my only concerns are humidity because i'll be attempting this in the summer by the time the digging and construction of the box will be done. other than that i can wait till next year for early spring when it's cooler and start from there. since this is highly experimental i'll jsut be using a bagseed.

here is a blueprint as what it'll look like. of course to be more stealth it'll be covered in twigs and bushes and shit.

it'll be at least 2 months before i can start this. so when this gets going i'll post my progress. hopefully this works. it looks good on paper.

seems extravigent for what u need, might as well just buy a small greenhouse, keep some pepps and fuits in there with everything else, seems legit, better then a home made box sitting in your lawn. i dunno seems like alot, i would be most worried about the outdoor wether + electricity, now u have a extension cord going to this box, i dunno i want a green house in my back yard for sure! who the fuck is gonna question that?

climate control is goin to be a big problem man. and that cord runnings out of the ground, thats going to defeat the whole purpose of STEALTH. but its a good idea though

the wire will be underneath the ground. sorry if that isn't clear, i tried to put a layer of dirt in the diagram over the orange cord.

it'll be in the shaded woods, underneath a roof structure, under ground, i think it'll keep cool. when i get this underway and having good results i'll bring pictures here to show my progress.

    You can't do that.

It has to be either wire with a coating rated for direct burial, or you have to dig a trench and run conduit.

    I'm a to-code fanatic... sorry...

This just seems like the most overcomplicated idea ever for how little space you will be afforded.

If I were going to do an underground grow, it would be with an excavator and a steel shipping container... a REAL growroom that I could walk around in comfortably.

what stinky said. u cant just gi burying any normal extension cord. lol. like she said u gotta have a coated wire for burial and conduit....and u gotta dig a long ass trench from ur house to ur grow box.. why not jus dig a hole in the ground and stick ur box in there with a hinged cover? like a underground bombshelter sort of thing lol. good luck tho.
