cutting light back prior to setting starts out
does anyone know if cutting back light on starts, from 18 to 12 hours, one week prior to setting out, will help produce a short, bushy type plant which holds up better to the rains and winds--wil not break down so bad. i've heard this may help--produces a plant that both grows and trys to bud at the same time, putting most of its energy into forming thick buds on squat plants , with little branch wasted growth.

I have not heard that and personally would not risk it, as multiple changes in light cycle are a good way to induce herms.
I fyou would like short bushy plants, look for that GENETIC trait in the strains you pick.
