so i'm thinking for a first time experiment

I was thinking of gettin some lowryder 2 seeds and planting a few in an area that is away from my house and very hard to get too, i just managed to go far enough back into this "wooded" area by a lake. no houses, barns, etc. and no signs of anybody ever going back there (mashed down weeds, grass, plants) no tracks from cars. I'd like to see how mother nature works here in texas and do little with them, just water when they look like they need it. think they'll do fine on their own being outside in the usual 95-100 degree weather we have here in texas?

That will be a daily need all through summer, 2 to 3 times a day when it's hot.

my only true problem would be the curing of the bud. i know it loses flavor and potency when dried in microwave or the oven and the smoke is more harsh. but for a first time grow and it only being for me, and using a low yielder like lowryder/lowryder 2 do you think it'd be that big of a deal to just microwave/oven dry the bud?

The only possible reason I could expect is that you are underage and can't cure because you are worried your parents will smell it? Am I on the right track? Well, you're not GROWING in their home, so that's good at least.

Well, regardless (irregardless is not a word...lol), the curing really shouldn't smell, if you cure in jars. There are various methods you could use, but generally, if you have your own room, you should be fine to dry for a week (which smells, but not that bad), then cure in jars. Other methods using brown paper bags could be an option as well. Just grab a deodorizer or something for that one week, and you'll be set. Weed in jars.

thanks man, nah i'm not underage but still stay at my parents house while i go to college...can't afford a place of my own 3 more years and i should be in a place of my own growin cannabis like there's no tomorrow.

So you can put the bud straight into jars after harvest? or you let it sit out for a week and then jar it?

and i don't find it right that people (especially underage or in situation like me) grow on their parent's property without their knowledge. it's wrong and puts them in at a huge risk of gettin in trouble if you can't manage to hold your secret in.

So, then why would you wanna oven/microwave dry it? Why can't you just dry, then cure?

You have to dry it before you pop it into jars. I've heard of some people who dry it for less (5 days) and even up to 2 weeks. Personally 7 days is my preference. You see the dry box (just a box with strings strung across) and then the jars after that, opening them several times a day for the first couple weeks, then several times a week for a month, then they be ready to :rastasmoke:. Any time more than that is just gravy.

thanks Fog, so i could just stike the stuff in a box with maybe some holes in it to let some air in/out of it. and does the temp need to be a constant temp or is it ok if i have it out in our shed where the days it heats up to around 90 or so then at nights cools off to 80. or will that result in moldy bud. i'm honestly not worried about the growing part of it since i have grown my share of stuff (tomatoes, jalapenos, cantelopes, cucumbers, green onions, and god knows what else lol) all of those turned out excellent and seemed to love the weather even though it gets so damn hot here.

You are putting the cart way before the horse. You have to get a harvest in before worrying about what to do with it. No one in their right mind microwaves good bud.

How is planning how i am going to cure the bud "putting the cart way ahead of the horse"? I think it's smart to have my plan set out so I know exactly what I will do ahead of time as any veteran grower will agree (i hope )
