i know yes it is a drug but i put a spin on it,

i say yeah...so's the coffe your slurping and so is the cigs your smoking so are we so diffrent?

I Dont buy that arguement because nicotine and coffe are not exactly mind altering. THC is substantially different than those 2. so yes, a thc user is different than a nicotine/caffeine user

its about keeping an upstanding image of it man. If youre vocal about your pot use show everyone you are an upstanding and amiable individual. Stoned kidiots give us a bad rep. Every stoner should be like the PR person of cannabis

exactly. Logical arguments don't have an impressive effect when they're used to convince a majority bias. The best thing to do is be vocal about your cannabis enthusiasm because it will promote closet tokers to come out and after a while pro-weed will be a majority opinion. This is idealistic. All we can do is be as responsible and articulate as possible so people with start associating weed with respectable ethics and consider it an integral part of society.

Heres an arguement...

Recent science has shown to be able to target cannabinoid receptors on prostate cancer cell to induce apoptosis. This is a significant finding considering we have just found a whole new apoptotic pathway. Although the cannabinoid they were using for these experiments was sythetic, i have read a few articles claiming the activity of THC on these receptors. This applies to a few different cancers including, but not limited to, prostate cancers, breast cancer, and brain cancer. I wont get into the science of it cuz that would take hours and most of you probably wouldnt even read it... but if you are interested...

definitely with nochowder on this-"technically" it is a drug, and exactly right that yes ganja is habit forming, but not addictive. I know what you mean though, the connotation that people say "drug" in reference to weed as though it's heroine.
The constant assupmtion that if you show any sign of being "lazy" it's because of the pot, yadda yadda. Truth be told if your lazy your lazy don't blame the ganja. I know many a business owners, etc, people with jobs which do not allow for the weed stereo type.

Exactly what I was going to post :thumbsup: Most people classify something as a "drug" if it alters your mind or causes some sort of addiction.

It is usually synthesized outside of an organism, but introduced into an organism to produce its action. That is, when taken into the organisms body, it will produce some effects or alter some bodily functions (such as relieving symptoms, curing diseases or used as preventive medicine or any other purposes).

Short version, a drug is something either created in a lab or is natural that isn't taken as food. It's made outside of your body but can be injested by many ways. When you take drugs it has some sort of effect on you. Drugs have many varied effects, from curing illness to causing euphoria.

I wouldn't personally call Marijuana a drug (I don't call it 'pot' ever unless im talking to someone who I don't want to know I smoke, saying pot makes you seem more innocent :thumbsup. Although it alters your mind and body I feel that you can't simply lump it in as a drug, it's cannabis, it's own catagory. It can be used medicinally to relieve pain, cure glaucoma, quell nausia, increase appitite, and recently some are saying that it can help cure cancer. Then theres it's recreational use. Blah, blah, blah I can go on about that for hours.

Anyway, it's not a drug to me, but by definition, yes it's a drug.

Actually, a few years ago there was a cannabis reported death that occured after somebody was given some of those THC pills as medicine. She probally died from some sort of allergic reaction to the cannabis though because it's been proven that there is no way to die from cannabis unless you smoke about 15 lbs. in 15 miniutes which is physically impossibe and mentally impossible because you would pass the fuck out after your first ounce.

Yeah I heard about that also, my grandma has alzheimers so I should have smoked her up more before she got bad. Also I was thinkin... smoking weed on tin foil... does that kinda cancel out the tin foils effects on alzheimers or something... im a stoner.:rasta:
