    Cheap Grow Lights

One more question. Do you guys think it's pretty safe to have this light mailed directly to my house or what? How heavy should the light be? And if it's sorta heavy does the people that deal with my package open it up to see what it is?

BUMP, I really need an answer to this question. I have never ordered anything like this before and I'm trying to get all of this done ASAP.

I'd have your seeds ordered to a friends house, may be better to have the lights mailed somewhere else if possible too. I really don't know though.

    Cheap Grow Lights

Nvm this isn't moving as fast as I want it to. I swear I can't wait until I get older and have my own place and own money, if it isn't some one else's top priority it never seems to get done. So what ever I'm gonna have to try and use my own money now and since I can't afford a lot I'm just gonna buy some mylar and some CFL's. How many watts do you guys think I need of CFL's and how much will the mylar help my yield?

How many watts needed depends on a lot of different variables. Also remember, you will need different Kelvin CFLs for flowering if you plan to go CFL for the whole life of the plant. Mylar will help out tremendously with your yield and overall plant health. I highly recommend using it, especially with CFLs. With the low Lumens the CFLs provide you with you will need to make the most use out of your enclosure as possible. Keep it as confined as possible without causing fire hazards or otherwise having a negative affect to the plants health.

We need to know this information to help ya better:

∙ Dimensions of the grow space (LxWxH).
∙ How many plants you plan on growing.
∙ Will you be flowering with the CFLs?

Orangeman, Here's a site where I've gotten some lights. They have a huge selection to fit every need and budget.

Light Bulbs, Rope Lights, Halogen & Fluorescent Light Bulbs

I got two 105 watt full spectrum fluorescents to go with the 150 watt hps. I have the two large fluorescents hanging on opposite sides of the 150. Works well and keeps heat down. They aren't cheap. But they have a wide selection of other lights to fit your needs.

As far as odor goes, we're growing Cal Bud right now, into our ninth week. The smell is considerably reduced compared to the bag weed we grew for our first attempt, which came out way better than the original stuff the seeds came from. People sometimes drop by and they smell something but it isn't weed. No alarms go off. We grow in our closet and keep the door open to avoid heat build-up. If we know people are dropping by, we shut the bedroom door and no one's the wiser.

Best thing to do is to start collecting all your essentials now, nutes, tools, etc, so when you get ready to jump in you're fully prepared.

After our first grow, I decided that I wasn't going to buy herb again. Just grow. It's not that difficult. Everyone has their idea as to how to do it. The best way is what works for you. Also, if you're growing for your own bones, you need to grow at least three plants to insure that you get one female. Good luck. :smokin:

Well yeah I do plan on using the CFL's to flower. And if I have to buy like 6 bulbs I'm gonna probably use them all at the same time. I want to get 3 cool whites and 3 warm whites. If I can get more then I will but I wasn't really prepared for all the CFL's I thought I was going to be able to get one big 250w HPS but the money is not like it should be (sigH). I plan on growing at least 3 plants and hopefully I get lucky and they all end up females lol. I don't know the dimensions..but it's big enough .
