I am on marriage number three, and have been in other serious relationships with several other men, so I am not really as pie in the sky as you think. Demeter certainly knows about the highs and lows of love - I survived two painful divorces, and I'm not bitter yet!
Any love is better than no love, regardless of the end result. Even if it doesn't last forever, it is glorious while it's there. Never stop believing in the possibility of joy, young friend. It can happen for you too, and then I will say told ya so.....

i have loved, just never been loved back, atleast you can say you have, so i have the right to be dis-illusioned when it comes to love, especially when people have lied to me about how they feel... don't tell me it can happen for me... cuz quite honestly i'm sick of the games women have played on me.

It sounds like you have gotten involved with the wrong women, some real bitches- but don't feel bad sweetie, I picked some guys who liked nothing better than to tell me I was a piece of shit. It sucks. There will always be people like that I guess. The thing I learned is that I can't control other people, but I can alter what I permit others to do to me. First there had to be a shift in my own self- esteem, since I was so emotionally battered by what these guys had done. I had to do a lot of self-searching to see why I kept falling for men who would mistreat me. Once I realized my part in the whole stupid drama, and took steps not to set myself up again, I was able to find someone nice. Someone who loves me for me, and not as a trophy, or something to control.
It took awhile; I was well into my third decade on earth before there was any sign of hope, but it doesn't always take that long. Please don't give up. I don't know your age, but you sound young, and one thing age does bring is a certain perspective. When I was young, like you, I often could not see the light at the end of the tunnel, having been in darkness so long. But it does get better, if you work on yourself, instead of closing off in bitterness. Ok, that's fine for awhile- nothing wrong with it as long as you don't act out. I wrote some disgustingly violent poems about ripping men's heads like lettuce, haha, but at some point I hope you focus on yourself-fulfilling your dreams and nurturing yourself, while keeping an open mind about love. Once you feel better, then she will find you

It really did happen like he said... we began as seed swappin' grow buds... grew out each others' strains... gradually emailed a bit more... the rest is history!
Birdgirl... my impressiosn in person were EXACLTY like what Iwas already expecting... I guess you really get to know someone better verbally anyway.. I already knew.
