If you begin pointing your mom to, say, Erowid or NORML or other places where she can find solid information about cannabis health benefits, she's also going to find an equal amount of warnings that inhaled cannabis smoke is an irritant and can aggravate pulmonary conditions like asthma, also increasing your risk for bronchitis and/or pneumonia. So just be aware that for every reason supporting its use, there's an equal amount of reasons against it out there.

I cough and wheeze this time of year because of allergies, which do a far worse number on me than weed ever did. If you've got a runny nose and drainage in your head, that certainly does sound a lot more like allergies than asthma to me. This time of year, those are classic allergy symptoms, especially in the South (I live in Texas).

yochrono Reviewed by yochrono on . ok..i got asthma my mom says the reason why i cough is because i smoke. and she says i cant smoke because i got asthma. but i get the same cough every year, i think shes just looking for an excuse for me not to smoke. the cough and drainage is all in my head its not the chest at all. i live in memphis and the weather here changes pretty much everyday and i think that has a lot to do with it because it always makes my sinuses act up. does anybody have this same problem?? is she right or is she wrong?
